Grace: The Source of Life
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God: Not
of works, lest any man should boast."  Ephesians Chapter 2 Verses 8 and 9

From the Pastor:

When we talk about salvation we must always remember the word grace. Grace - unmerited
favor - only provided by a loving God. Grace reveals the true character of God, therefore we
must realize that grace is a gift from Him.

First, we see grace as the source of life. Romans chapter 5 verse 8 says, "while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us." God loves us even when we are unlovable. This is an
unconditional love that never changes.

Next we see the results of grace - salvation. As we by faith receive this grace, we are saved.
This is a gift from the Father that He gives to all who will accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
No matter how good or bad we have lived life, God freely gives this amazing grace that we
might be saved.

Finally, we see the revelation of grace - "not of works, lest any man should boast." We are
reminded that it is all God. It takes away the ideas that I can earn God's favor or that I can
save myself. No matter how good I think I am I still need God's grace to be saved. I must
allow the Lord to do what I
can't do - SAVE MYSELF.
