Hand of the Lord

Isaiah 59:1 says, "Behold, The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;
neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear." If there is one place that we need to be
today it is in the hand of the Lord. We need the security of knowing that we are
safe in the hand of the Lord. We are told in the gospel that we are in the hand of
God and no one can take us out of His hand because He is greater than them all.
So I ask myself this question today.  "What does it mean to be in the hand of the
Lord?" First I must realize that it means I am saved spiritually. All of my salvation is
dependent upon what the Father has done for me. I didn't just climb up one day
and get into the hand of the Lord - no, He reached down and picked me up and
placed me in the center of His hand. Notice what Isaiah said, "that it cannot save".
This statement gives us the understanding that it was His hand that did the saving.
The Bible is clear in the fact that we are lost in our sins and that we need to be
saved; also, the Bible is clear in the fact that we can't save ourselves. So it takes
the action of a loving Father to provide the means of our salvation. He did this by
allowing nails to be driven through His hands that He might reach down and pick
us up out of this world of sin. So it is not by works of righteousness that I have
done that I'm saved today, but it is by the work of the hand of the Lord that I'm
saved.

In Christ's love,
Bro. Cliff
