Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.”
There are many stories about how building a house has turned into a nightmare. Making
sure you have the right contractor is very important to keep you from going through a lot
of heartache. Well who are you trusting to build your life? Who is building your family?
Who is the master builder of your marriage? So many today are making a mistake by
letting the things of this world shape their lives. We are allowing the principles of this
world to shape our children. We are also allowing this world to construct our homes. In
doing this many are being disappointed with the results. If one thing is certain in this life
I can tell you, this world does not know how to construct a meaningful life. In fact, the life
this world constructs will end in disaster. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus reminds us
who needs to be the master builder in our lives. Matthew 7:24, “Therefore whosoever
heareth these saying of mine, and doeth them; I will liken him unto a wise man, which
built his house upon a rock.” Folks, there is no doubt about it; if Jesus builds the house -
it stands. If we allow the Lord to be the master builder of our lives we will enjoy true life.
He is the only One who can build a life that will stand up to the storms of this world.
So let’s stop trusting in something that doesn't satisfy and trust in the One who can
deliver a solid foundation.
