Have you ever been talking to someone and you got the feeling that they were not
listening to what you were saying? Maybe you have even been guilty of not listening
when someone was speaking to you. Many times we need someone that we can share
our thoughts with, Just to be able to get it off our chests. And it's so frustrating when
no one wants to listen. In Psalms 10:17 the Bible says, "Lord, thou hast heard the
desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear."
God listens! He doesn't interrupt when you pour out your heart to Him. He doesn't pay
attention half-heartedly as though He has other things on His mind. In fact, He has all
the time of eternity to listen to you. And the Lord will encourage you! As you pour out
your heart to Him, He will say to you, as He did to His disciples when He was here on
earth, "Take courage! It is I - don't be afraid" (Matthew 14:27). We don't have to carry
these burdens around all the time. We can bring them to the Lord and He will listen to
our heart. Did you know just to be able to verbalize our troubles will make us feel
better? And to share them with the One who cares really lightens our load. Isaiah 41:13
says, "I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do
not fear; I will help you." Help - isn't that what we all need? And who better to give us
the help we need than our Father. If you bow your heart in prayer to Him right now, the
God who cares for you will listen and encourage you and help you find a solution. He
promises!
When it seems no one cares, just remember God loves you!
